Extra Credit Policy

If you keep up with your work and have good learning habits, you will succeed in this class. If you would like to improve your grade with a little with extra credit, I believe you must have already done the rest of the work for the class. Extra credit is not a way to make up for other work you have chosen not to complete. I have very strict rules about accepting extra credit. I will not award extra credit to students that have not turned in all work and attended class consistently without skipping. Similarly, extra credit will not improve your participation grade. If you are thinking about doing extra credit you must complete a proposal form that will tell me exactly what you plan to do; that proposal must be approved by me before you do the work. Forms are available from me at all times, or you may download a form below. Any work must be completed by the Monday before the last Monday of the grading period - no exceptions!!!

To earn extra credit in my classes the following must be true:

  1. You may have no more than one missing assignment. If you have any more than one, you must make them up (for no credit) before you will be able to earn extra credit.
  2. You may not have any unexcused absences.
  3. You must fill out a proposal form in detail and wait for written approval and/or comments before beginning work if you wish to get credit.
  4. Any extra credit must be turned in before the Monday before the last Monday of the grading period.
